There is one issue that keeps me bothering when I read books on digital devices (such as my pc, phone, kindle, laptop or my smartphone ). There is no universal 'Remember last position` feature. As most you I constantly switch devices. On city subway I read books with my smart phone, at home I read on my laptop, at work I switch to my work pc and I have to search for the last page I have read on my current book. This is really tiresome and time consuming. It would be great if we could find a way to eliminate this problem. Most of pdf or book readers have 'Remember last position` feature individually but there is no global standard for this. Can books companies or software developers come together develop an open source protocol for this?

I've used Aldiko ever since my first android phone over a decade ago. Turns out the only then keeping me on this app is being too lazy to switch. Well, good job, the experience has finally degraded to the point where I'm motivated enough to find a replacement. Features are missing. Everything is laggier and slower. Swap to a different app to answer a message and the book is closed when i swap back, have to open it again, while lagging.

Update 2024: The app was forcefully updated without my permission or knowledge. Uninstalled immediately. Original 2023: This app is a great example of why you should always disable auto updates. If you liked Aldiko as it once was, google Aldiko 3.0.58 apk; I found it to be the most stable version of the app I once loved. You might lose some data in the process of "rolling back" the app (write down your current books and page numbers if you're worried), but I found it was ultimately worth it.
